From June 16th to the 20th, SILKAN took part to the EUROSATORY event, located at the Centre des expositions from Paris Nord-Villepinte. EUROSATORY is the biggest world event dedicated to land armament and gathers whole Earth and air-land Defense together. It also includes a security part which comes within the scope of the technological continuum and the land industrial sector, from raw material to subcontractors and project managers end products.
The 2014 edition was the opportunity to show new technological developments : measurements and testing platforms, human security and emergency assistance, infrastructure protection and sensitive installations.
This edition also made it possible to SILKAN to show its 2014 innovations :
- Control of the virtual cockpit : SILKAN disclosed its new PC-based simulator which includes shooters, drill sergeant and commander stations, with a «head-up» option,
- Moveable exercises direction station : the SILKAN simulator now accessible from a DIREX moveable station (a Wi-Fi tablet which makes possible to display a mapping with entities movements and to directly start an exercise),
- Drone control crews training simulator : for this event, SILKAN disclosed for the first time its new VENOM simulator and announced the signing of a distribution agreement across Europe and North Africa with its Canadian partner RAAS (Royal Aircraft and Avionic Simulation),
- Dynamic embedded simulation : in partnership with Optsys, SILKAN showed a digital episcope integrated in a driving station model (wheel, pedal set, episcope).
SILKAN’s innovative solutions were displayed on 3 different stands, at the center of the SMEDEF simulation cluster.
On the fridge of the displaying part, SILKAN took part with the French Army in a conference on the future of embedded simulation. And as an organization committee member, it was also active on the Simulation village.
Finally, still during EUROSATORY, SILKAN, represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Emmanuel Chiva, held the SIMDEF (ADIS group simulation Inter-army seminar) annual innovation contest.
This competition, accessible to every innovative organization in the sector of defence simulation, rewarded the Real Fusio firm for its 3D Jump project.
During this 2014 EUROSATORY edition, SILKAN welcomed some well-known figures, such as the French Minister of Defence, M. Le Drian, who noticed persistent innovation in this area and SILKAN’s leading role in this development. Other well-known figures, such as the French Chief of the Land Staff, Bertrand Ract-Madoux, were able to visit SILKAN’s stand.
EUROSATORY 2014 was a huge success for SILKAN thanks to the deployed resources, its dynamic team and its visibility alongside with major groups in this sector. Thus, SILKAN positions itself as a key player in the Defence simulation area.
